GCSE results day has left a fair few learners needing to sit GCSE resits in maths and/ or English. Any student who hasn’t achieved a level 4 in either subject are advised to resit the exams or consider another option. The other option we recommend is a functional skills level 2 exam.

Universities, employers and apprenticeships all accept functional skills meaning this is the preferred alternative if you do not need a grade above 4 in either subject. Some courses do require a level higher than 4, if this is the case then a GCSE resit is the only option.
